Sometimes I get asked to paint a banner.

Banners don't have to be complicated works of art to be effective. I usually make them quickly, at the request of an organizer or activist who is mobilizing their community quickly in response to a crisis.  And yet, there are many beautiful ways to construct this beautiful object of urgency, and over the years I've smiled as I've cultivated my own style.  Here are some of my favorites to date.

I'm definitely not trying to take take any kind of credit for the people mobilizing behind these quick paintings by sharing their hard work here.  I'm also not trying to say you need me to make your banner--go buy a sheet and your own paint!

I share these to say, if it's helpful: I will totally help you make a banner...and this is kind of what they will look like!  If that's helpful, be in touch!
